Friday Night
Last night Fiona, Richard, David, Pamela, Colin Clair, Robert and I went to the Lemongrass for a pre Big Brother meal and then went back to ours to watch that Kemal being evicted.
I had a tempura of vegetables (an unusual move for me but I'm really trying with this eat more veg thing) and Stir Fried Duck with Black bean and Plum Sauce. Next time I'm having the roast duck as it looked nicer (Richard had that)
Anyway thanks for a great night guys, here are the pics as promised

Actual Advert
Forty squirrels were trained to crack nuts in the new film
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Even with sophisticated computer-generated technology available, director Tim Burton refused to take any short cuts with the famous Nut Room scene in Roald Dahl's novel.
It had to be as life-like as possible, Burton decided, which meant squirrels cracking and sorting nuts on a conveyor belt.
In the film, they are seen sitting on stools testing the quality of the nuts until their work is rudely interrupted by one of the humans, in an action they take strong exception to.
"As with most fine things, chocolate has its season. There is a simple memory
aid that you can use to determine whether it is the correct time to order
chocolate dishes: any month whose name contains the letter A, E, or U is the
proper time for chocolate."
Sandra Boynton "Chocolate: The Consuming Passion"

Craig
I was a bit upset by
Craig from Big Brother's antics last night on the Telly Box. It is embarrassing to watch and I really started to feel for his poor mother.
Click here for full story. We all have the capacity to let ourselves down but not on national TV with our families watching. Also those nasty
Endemol guys do put a spin on the edit
Our Holiday
This is where we are staying when we go to Majorca next Saturday. Can't wait!!!
Warm stack of Greek salad with parsley pesto
Quite fancy this for tea sometime. Looks nice.
Ingredients
6 beef tomatoes or 12-15 decent-sized plum tomatoes
450g/1lb courgettes
handful of fresh basil leaves, plus extra for garnish
450g/1lb Greek feta cheese
olive oil for griddling and drizzling
18 large Kalamata black olives
lemon wedges, to serve
salt and freshly ground black pepper
For the parsley pesto
2 garlic cloves
large handful of roughly chopped fresh parsley
25g/1oz pine nuts
50g/2oz freshly grated vegetarian Parmesan cheese
150ml/5fl oz Greek extra-virgin olive oil
Method
1. Skin the tomatoes by putting a cross on the bottom, plunging them into boiling water for about 30 seconds, then dropping into iced water - the skins will peel off easily. Then slice them to the thickness of a pound coin.
2. Slice the courgettes to the same thickness, season and griddle on both sides until they're nicely striped.
3. To make the pesto, put the garlic and parsley in a blender and blend together, then with the motor still running add the nuts, cheese and oil. Taste and season.
4. To assemble, you'll need six 10cm/4in diameter serving rings (or two rings and repeat three times). Sit the rings on a baking tray. Put a layer of tomato in the bottom of each ring. If you're using plum tomatoes make sure the base is well covered. Season, then spoon on a little pesto and top with a couple of basil leaves and a layer of sliced or crumbled feta. Repeat with a layer of courgette slices. Then repeat the layering, finishing with a layer of feta.
5. Pre-heat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4. Drizzle the stacks with a little oil and cook in the oven for 10-12 minutes to warm through. You can flash them under a hot grill to brown, if you want.
6. Unmould each stack onto a plate, and arrange the olives around. Garnish with basil, a good drizzle of oil and a lemon wedge.

Andrew Smith
Had lunch today with Andrew Smith who is the Orchestral manager of the Ulster Orchestra and he looks like this.
Andrew has some cats and this is a picture of one of his cats. Unfortunately Andrew was not very careful when taking this picture as you can see.
When I came home for my tea he was at my house with Robert watching TV so I'm hoping to get a chinese out of him. He's in our living room which looks like this:

No he won't let me. OK salient points from today. I made my first Strawberry and Natural Yoghurt Smoothie which was lovely - bought a new smoothie maker on Sat.
The Mark McGuire Singers started recording a new piece - Pure Shores by the All Saints. I think it's coming along well.
These are some of my friends but I'll introduce you to them later individually. This is us in Barcelona earlier this year at Richard Campbell's stag weekend.

Continued
On then to Freddy. I haven't actually got his permission yet to put him up here but once I have I will. His name is Freddy (my name is Freddy) and we live together. In harmony. Mostly.
You will probably hear very little about him as he will crack up with me if I put anything up with him on it - he's quite private. Not that there is anything that's so very secret about him - he just is that way.
I however am the
very sort of person to be doing this very public and adulation seeking thing - however that's not the primary reason that I have started this - it's really that I have a creative urge and I think that this may prove to help my writing skills - also I am already finding it very relaxing.
I love nothing more than writing work related e-mails and now I can type words that may be important to me rather than about some work related shite. I don't think I can say where I work but anyone who knows me knows - and I can tell you I work for a mobile phone company.
Anyway if Robert lets me put his picture up I'll do so - I'll go and ask him now.
